Observing at the Bacis Farm

Tonight our club meeting will be at the Bacis farm. They have a great place for observing. Our club has observed here several times in the past. We will be operating out of the workshop or barn and there will be power available. As usual, please bring a snack or item to share. Their farm is located at 4365 Hollow Corners Road, Dryden, Michigan 48428 - only three miles from Seven Ponds Nature Center. Bring your scope and hope to see you there.


Star Party at Metamora-Hadley Recreation Area

We will be participating in a star party at Metamora Hadley Recreation Area, 3871 Herd Road, Metamora, Michigan on July 9. The program is not titled yet, but last years was: "Astronomy 101:  Celestial Skies Over Minnewanna". The program will consist of a short indoor program and then have telescopes avilable for the campers in the park afterwards. The indoor program will be at the Red Barn at 7PM and the telescopes will be at the beach parking lot beginning at 9PM. Cost to attend: Free. If you do not have a recreation passport on your vehicle license plate, you will be required to obtain a one-day pass, available at the gate. Bring your telescope and a lawn chair.

Attend Warren Astronomical Society Annual Picnic

This year our club will again be participating in the Warren Astronomical Society's annual picnic, which will be held at their STARGATE observatory at Camp Rotary on the grounds of Wolcott Mill Metropark. All pertinent info can be found at: http://www.warrenastro.org/was/stargate.aspx .There will be solar observing in the afternoon and telescope observing in the evening. Bring a dish to pass.
 

Attend Ford Amateur Astronomy Club Multi-Club Picnic
Saturday, August 13, 2016  5:00 PM (originally was 8-6-2016)

Seven Ponds has been invited to the Ford Amateur Astronomy Club's annual multi-club picnic at Island Lake Recreation Area near Brighton, Mi. The picnic will be at the Spring Mill Pond area within the park. They need to know how many people to expect in order to purchase the required amount of food. So, please let me know if you plan on attending by mid-July and I will let them know how many of us to expect. Anyone attending is asked to bring a dish to pass.

**** NEW DATE IS FRIDAY, AUGUST 26TH ****

Due to unforeseen circumstances, our meeting location for tonight has been changed. We are no longer meeting at Paul & Debbie Luotonen's. We are now meeting at the John Bacis farm, located close to Seven Ponds.

NOTE: John Bacis has agreed to having the event on Friday, Aug. 26th if the weather looks questionable for the 27th. Check the website for late notices as the event draws near.
